With the Oscars being on last night it got me thinking again about E! News Host Giuliana Rancic and her infertility journey. On her Style network show, Giuliana and Bill, she and her husband have very openly shared their struggles, a miscarriage, and two IVF attempts. While I don't normally tune into celebrity reality shows, I did watch these episodes. I cried alongside Giuliana when she was talking to her therapist on the show after the miscarriage. It has been incredibly brave and open storyline to share so publicly.
Anyway, last I saw they were in the 2nd round of IVF, where she was rushed to the ER with overstimulated ovaries, and really no news had surfaced on its outcome. But one only needs to see pencil thin and lovely Giuliana that she's as flat bellied as ever to know she is not pregnant.
So, after seeing Giuliana again with Oscar news everywhere, I did a search and found this article on The Stir titled, "Giuliana Rancic Has Had It With Infertility". It discusses how she and husband, Bill, are not trying anymore and taking a break. It was professionally vague so who knows what that really means but she has been pretty forthcoming with her journey up to now. I know Giuliana has really been championed by infertiles everywhere and I hope they continue to support her during this time. In an effort to be part of that, let me tell you about Giuliana's new website called FabFitFun.com, for tips on looking as fabulous as Giuliana!
I also had never been to the Stir and found a variety of thoughtful articles about infertility. I especially appreciated this article directed at pregnant women asking them to think about how their postings on Facebook might be hard on their infertile friends. You can read it here. If you'd like to see what else they offer on infertility, click here.
Thanks for your post..enjoyed reading the article regarding Pregnancy and Facebook. Right now I DESPISE FACEBOOK and the Baby Gaga updates for my "friends" pregnancy. My best friend found out she was pregnant after not trying and is now using this application!! I just can't believe she would be so insensitive to my feelings. I have to remember it is not all about me, but seriously....
